Greatest Covers - Week 8

This is a weekly post chronicling the greatest covers in the annals of comic history. In a medium that demands creativity and imagination, these are the cream of the crop, displaying a level of originality, daring and draftsmanship that truly set them apart. If there's one thing here in Phoenix that really freaks people out, it's rain. So that's what makes this cover so terrifying. Tales of the Unexpected #92, circa June 1959, comes from the masterful hand of Howard Purcell. I doubt you will ever see giant raindrops in another comic. Or Green Glob Weirdies. Ever. Shame.
